Teachers:

Julie Robinson has over 25 years experience as a classroom teacher and elementary principal in the Iowa City Community School District. She received her BA in Biology from Coe College. She completed her MA and PhD coursework in Elementary Education at The University of Iowa. She is a certified K-12 reading specialist. In addition to her work in elementary education, Julie has also taught classes in Children’s Literature and Reading at the University of Iowa. Julie and her family live in rural North Liberty.

 

Sara Hartman has over 20 years of teaching experience. She has taught at all grade levels, high school, junior high, and elementary through the Cedar Rapids Community and Iowa City Community School Districts. She received a BA in Clothing and Textiles and a second BA in Vocational Education from the University of Northern Iowa. Besides teaching, she is an accomplished crafter and has sold her work at shows and several shops around Iowa for over 30 years. Sara and her husband have raised 2 children who are currently pursuing degrees from Iowa State and UNI. They have lived in the North Liberty area for over 25 years. .

About Us

At Prime Time Learning Academy we believe that children should spend time each day working and playing hard!  

They need to learn and master academic skills in reading, written language, math, science, and the social sciences.  These academic skills will be the tools they need to not only do well in school today, but to pursue their dreams at top colleges and universities.   In order to be motivated and engaged, students need frequent opportunities to work collaboratively to apply these skills to solve real problems.  An integrated project approach to learning is one of the best ways to accomplish this.

In addition to academics, children also need opportunities to use their imaginations.  That’s why we include creative play, music,  art, and movement in our classes.  

Children are not meant to be quiet, solitary and passive – neither is learning!
